Manchester Orchestra Cleveland Show
This show was sweet. Room was neat, probably smaller than it should have been but neat. Had that sort of High School dance vibe to it. Anyway, the crowd was good for the most part, left a nice distance around everyone so it wasn't a smashed together sweat fest and there was not pushing or moshing except for one tiny area at the front of the stage which eventually settled down as well.
I was really happy with openers Harrison Hudson and An Horse, not only did they play very well but the crowd was pretty in to both of them. I've been to a lot of shows where people just b**** until the headliner is on but I heard a ton of "they're pretty good" and "I like them" around me. Just nice.
Manchester's set was excellent. The whiny douche in me wants to complain that we got teased with "This next song's called Pensacola" that never got played but I'd be lying if I said it took anything away from the show. It was a great time, the sound was good, the band had energy, I had a beer. Excellent night.
This marks the third year in a row that we've seen Manchester in Cleveland either in May or at the end of April (last year with Thrice) so it's now a kind of marker for the end of the Spring semester for my group of friends and I and I can't think of too many better ways to end them. Hopefully this trend can continue in the next few years as well.
