While checking out the opening acts for the Brand New show I was going to see back in 2007, I stumbled upon "I Can Barely Breathe" on Manchester's MySpace and was hooked. After seeing them perform "Where Have You Been?" live, there is no turning back from having to see them again. I connect with the music because it is refreshing to hear great new rock. I connect with the lyrics because I too have a storied past with religion and seem to feel exactly what Andy is trying to say with almost every lyric. I connect with the members because they not only pour their hearts out in every performance, but because they are genuinely good guys that appreciate that you appreciate their music. Now, with the release of Mean Everything to Nothing, I know that my little perfect musical secret will no longer be mine and I could not be happier because of it.
