Baton Rouge
While the guys were awesome as always (I also caught them during Voodoo Fest), the crowd was, to be blunt, embarrassing. I would really like to apologize to the band for the Baton Rouge audience; people were screaming during the slowest, most personal songs ("I Can Feel Your Pain" received numerous "Yeah, Bones!" and even a "Why's Valerie so far away!") and basic talking throughout.
Though the show was sold out, about half of these people obviously didn't care one bit about the actual band. The most personal lyrics received what can almost be defined as mockery. I could tell that the band (especially Andy) were not pleased, and I can safely say that I felt disgusted to be counted among some of these people.
Other than the crowd, the set itself was phenomenal. An extended version of "Where Have You Been," and an Andy solo version of "The Only One" were amazing to say the least. And "The River," like always, was transcendent.
So, I'd like to apologize to the band for the conduct at tonight's show...y'all deserve much more than the drunken jeers you received tonight...it was out of control and a negative experience for everyone involved (of course, I was too blown away by the music to care too much about the s***ty crowd anyway!)
